Senator: Be our hero, co-sponsor the Safe Chemicals Act of 2011
Today we have exciting news to share; Congress is poised to take a
meaningful step to protect you and your family from toxic chemicals.
Bullshit. Whether there is indeed a problem with a particular
substance or not, some hack in Congress will peddle some law to make
himself/herself look like he/she is doing something important. They
would just as soon outlaw ice cream if it bought them sufficient votes
from one group or another... :O|

Bullshit.
Thank you, "Stanley." You have just admitted that the GOP cares nothing
about the public that erroneously put them in office.

I'm not a Republican, but thanks for snipping what I posted in order
to obfuscate my position. Once again, what I actually said:

Do you know anything about the Safe Chemicals Act or are you just
spouting your typical knee-jerk libertarian capitalist reaction?

You imply that politicians are banning things left and right (no pun
intended). You also imply that there is no logical reason for these
supposed bans.

1. This bill would reform the Toxic Substances Control Act, which has
not been changed since 1976. And that bill actually benefits the
chemical industry because it does not require chemicals found in
household products to be proven safe through testing.

2. One of the provisions of the bill would "Upgrade scientific methods
for testing and evaluating chemicals to reflect best practices called
for by the National Academy of Sciences." Meaning some politician isn't
banning a chemical buy throwing darts at a board.
