Defense Secretary Robert Gates is certainly not pleased that his
secret memo to the White House admitting the lack of a long-term
strategy to deal with Iran's nuclear ambitions became public this
week. But the admission cannot possibly come as a surprise to anyone.

We hand nuclear weapons to all of Iran's neighbors but won't let Iran
have them. We deposed a democratically elected president in favor of
