here's the best idea.
1. give oil company executives exactly 4 seconds to lower the price of gas
to $1.50 a gallon or you shoot them all,.
Given that:

(1) Oil companies are multinational corporations.
(2) Most oil now comes from overseas.
(3) People in China and India (and the rest of the world) will gladly pay
them for $3/gallon for all the gas they can supply.
(4) The US has no real control over what they do with oil that is drilled,
refined, and sold outside the country.

What do YOU think would happen if you mandated that gasoline could not be
sold in the US for over $1.50 a gallon?

Come on, genius: tell me what happens - we could all use a good laugh. :O|

2.1 A majority, in fact, comes from the OPEC cartel, enabling that cartel's
masters to set the world market price exactly as they please (and thus giving
accidental windfalls to oil companies that own production sites in countries
that don't belong to OPEC).

I suggest we tell Saudi Arabia that they can pay for their own defense in the
next war, or do without our help. I doubt China will offer them a better deal.

The same thing that happened when Nixon mandated that hamburger meat could
not be sold for more than $1 per pound. It disappeared from the stores until
he changed his tune.
