Brushing aside the criticisms of pundits and politicos, Alaska Gov. Sarah
Palin said she plans to jump immediately back into the national political
fray - stumping for conservative issues and even Democrats - after she
prematurely vacates her elected post at month's end, the Washington Times
reported.

The former Republican vice-presidential nominee and heroine to much of the
GOP's base said in an interview she views the electorate as embattled and
fatigued by nonstop partisanship, and she is eager to campaign for
Republicans, independents and even Democrats who share her values on limited
government, strong defense and "energy independence."

"I will go around the country on behalf of candidates who believe in the
right things, regardless of their party label or affiliation," she said over
lunch in her downtown office, 40 miles from her now-famous hometown of
Wasilla - population 7,000 - where she began her political career.

"People are so tired of the partisan stuff - even my own son is not a
Republican," said Palin, who stunned the political world earlier this month
with her decision to step down as governor July 26 with 18 months left in
her term.

Both her son, Track, 20, an enlisted soldier serving in Iraq, and her
husband, Todd, are registered as "nonpartisan" in Alaska.

Palin, who vaulted to national prominence when Sen. John McCain, Arizona
Republican, chose her as his running mate last August, left the door open
for a future presidential bid.

And yet lemming dems thought they were going to burn her at the stake.......
In response to our questions, the Governor's office provided us with a
detailed breakdown of the millions Palin has claimed has gone to defending
against ethics complaints. It does list roughly $1.9 million in
expenditures.

A large chunk of that work went into the state personnel board's
"Troopergate" investigation, which Palin herself initiated on the grounds
that a legislative probe was politicized. Only three of the ethics
complaints are still pending, a fact that makes Palin's explanation seem
even less sensible.

Furthermore, the $1.9M appears to be both an outright lie and
deliberately misleading.

Reporters for the Anchorage Daily News (ADN) quickly and easily
identified $30,000 in duplicate entries in the list of expenses that
Palin provided, and are checking on more than $50,000 in other suspect
entries. There are also entries that indicate that lawyers were paid
$100,000 an hour for work on the investigations. At this time it is
uunclear exactly what is incorrect on the statement to cause such an
absurd rate to be reported.

The deception comes from the statement that these are actually expenses.

Most are not.

The lawyers fees would have been paid with or without the investigations
--- the lawyers are on salary with the state. The same is true of the
state police investigators. At worst some other official business was
delayed so personnel could work on the investigations, but there is no
evidence that important work was not completed on time.

Estimates from the ADN of actual additional costs to the taxpayers are
very small, and most were the result of the troopergate investigation
requested by Palin herself.

Palin is incapable of honesty.

No, Whineo

We're allowing her to burn herself at the stake

If she influences the (whipped and beaten) GOP into
promoting her to a viable candidate (because of the
stranglehold of the religious nuts)---then the GOP will
be relegated to nothing more than a joke for 40 years.

Barbie AKA, Bailin Palin is going to stump for republicans. Great! Failin
Palin is the gift that keeps on giving and will add much to the republican
cause! I say bring her on. Oh wait, didn't I just read that republicans are
saying stay away? Hmmm, we will see how well the party accepts her now that
she has QUIT the governorship. Good luck Sarah, you'll need it.

Already many republican congressmen are letting it be known that she is
not welcome in their reelection campaigns, especially those who had
tight races in 2008 or are instates tat Obama won.

She is considered too toxic.

Yep she is really popular among the rabid right but cannot bring in
moderates of any party. Regardless of her politics, her frenzied,
incoherent, scattered speech should chase anybody away. She seems hyper with
attention deficit disorder or something. "Only dead fish go with the flow."

It's a smart move for Palin - she'll seem reasonable in comparision to
some of the others, Rush Limbaugh for example.

When you go around saying, "Joe Bannanas runs the racket in these
parts", one looks less reasonable when living in some small quiet
town than when being among one's peers in a psychiatric hospital,
many of said peers having far more bizarre illusions. :-)

ROFLMFAO............
We've been ROFLMAO at Ms. Mooseburger for almost a year now.

Her latest nicknames (wish I'd thought of these):

"The Alaskan Quitbull"

"Hookey Mom"

"The Quitter Giver Upper"

"Iquitarod"

And my favorite:

"Sarah Barracouldn't"

Thanks, I'll be here all week. Try the veal.
