I'm afraid that I scared a lady today when I pointed out that the
determination by the Bush / US govenment that >what we were doing at GTMO
wasn't torture gave others the right to do it to our
troops....
We have things like AC-130 gunships and UAVs that continue to make it
a very bad idea.
Do you honestly think somebody like Al Qaeda wouldn't torture US
troops if they had the chance? Have you not heard of the Fallujah
torture house? Do you actually think that terrorists don't torture
people? ('Cause, what, it's against western law?!)
and even our civilians. I guess!
You mean guys like Nick Berg?
Bush et al clearly lied. But, try to keep your belief system grounded
in reality. The peace-loving Sunni and Shia as well as the Taliban
have made institutions of torture against their own people. They all
hate us, but, what, they're going to treat us better than they treat
each other?
Some soldiers load three tracer rounds together in their final rifle
magazine as a signal that they're out of ammo. That way, they know
when to save the last bullet for themselves. There isn't a GI in
America that wants to be captured by jihadists or terrorists and it
isn't because the food sucks. I have a relative who describes the
smell of "the walking dead" which are people who had been tortured for
months by rival sects and criminals in the Anbar province including
one that was made to stand up constantly for three months, by local
police forces that the Marines raided.
The guys who are contradicting Bush also said that the people they
waterboarded were already conditioned to and familiar with greater
forms of torture. Those guys know that even if they're waterboarded,
they're not going to be crippled or dismembered. Which is what
Zarqawi did to infidels including at least one woman in Fallujah.
--------------------------------
We all know there are barbarians in the world. The point is that we hold
ourselves morally superior while engaging in similar acts. THAT, to me, is
the problem.
So why haven't the dems and bamby passed a law declaring water boarding
torture and subsequently outlawing it?

Could it be it wouldn't be politically advantageous to do so and therefore
more political viable to continue trying & convicting the Bush
administration in the public eye via their Liberal Media Whores?

Plus they wouldn't want casualties like the Imperial Princess Pelosi,
Feinstein and other dems to go down as hypocrites in the process!

Torture's BEEN illegal for many generations. When did you arrive?
If Pelosi goes down for honoring classified information, imagine what will
happen to Bush, Cheney and Rice.
So you republicans think Pelosi should have committed treason, correct?

Princess Pelosi didn't say a peep and she could have without disclosing
classified info.

Are you really so retarded you think she had no options except to keep her
mouth shut for years until it became a political tool to condemn Bush and
republicans in general?
