Conservative talk radio stations operate on airwaves owned by the
public, yet consider that only the viewpoints of right wing
Republicans are worthy of promotion. Their entire lineup consists of
programs repeating the "talking points" of the Republican party...Rush
Limbaugh...Sean Hannity...Mark Levin...Glen Beck and their clones.
Moderates, liberals, Democrats, progressives will seldom get past the
call screeners, and those who do will be ridiculed, talked over,
mocked, or hung up on -- "Get off the phone, you dope" is the favorite
way for Mark Levin to end a call from someone not following the "party
line."
The best way to hit "hate-talk radio" where it hurts is in the
pocketbook. After all, they have been the big advocates of "free
trade," tax cuts for the rich and screwing the working people of
America.
Listen to your local station for as long as you can stand it, and note
the phone numbers of their local and
national advertisers (usually there is a 1-800 number for the national
advertisers) Call and simply tell them that you will not buy their
product or service as long as they continue to advertise on that
program.
