A woman was killed and two men were wounded when gunfire broke
out early Sunday at a skating rink in Antioch, authorities said.
The shooting erupted about 1:40 a.m. after a fight at the
Paradise Skate Roller Rink at 1201 W. 10th St. at the Contra
Costa County Fairgrounds.
Antioch police found three people outside the rink who had been
shot.
Rescue crews performed CPR on a 31-year-old woman at the scene.
She was taken to Sutter Delta Medical Center in Antioch, where
she was pronounced dead.
Two men suffering from gunshot wounds were taken to John Muir
Medical Center in Walnut Creek. They were expected to survive,
said Jimmy Lee, sheriff's spokesman.
The names of the victims weren't immediately released.
Sheriff's investigators are handling the investigation because
the shooting happened on the property of the fairgrounds. About
40 to 50 people were at the rink at the time of the shooting,
authorities said.
No arrests have been made, and investigators are trying to
determine a motive, Lee said.
According to the skate park's website, an "adult late night
skate jam" was held from 11:30 p.m. Saturday and was to have
continued until 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
